Lighting Design and Technology was be a significant area of design addressed at Scenofest, World Stage Design 2013.
There were lectures on the art of lighting design as well as the technology in use. Aspects of non-theatrical light as art were be explored, as well as design for theatre, opera, dance and site specific situations.

We also presented the very popular 1:4 model theatre for creating full lighting design at ¼ actual size. There were lecture presentations on the importance of incandescent sources in the new age of LED fixtures, as well as working with LEDs, the art and science of colour, the future development of theatrical lighting systems in the coming decades, and many “tricks of the trade”.
Lighting presentations were made by speakers and workshop leaders from around the world who addressed issues of the lighting process and practice within their cultures. Equipment from many manufacturers were used for workshops and performances in the many venues and performances at Scenofest.
