Gesture into Costume with Lea Anderson

How does costume effect the way movement happens and is perceived?  What role should costume play in the creation of movement work? Can costume precede or even anticipate movement? Or does movement determine costume?

These are some of the questions that celebrated director and choreographer Lea Anderson brought into the workshop space. Lea has produced some of the most influential choreographic work over the last 25 years and has worked with designers such as Simon Vincenzi and Sandy Powell, unusually for dance  often putting costume at the beginning of the process of making the performance.

This event was for emerging professional designers / makers and dancers
