Edinburgh Festival Fringe 2012 Sustainable Production Award Winner: The Man Who Planted Trees

The Puppet State Theatre Company presented ‘The Man Who Planted Trees’ at World Stage Design 2013.

This multi-sensory theatrical adaptation of Jean Giono’s environmental classic tells the inspiring story of a shepherd (and his dog!) who plants a forest, acorn by acorn, transforming a barren wasteland.

As much a touching tale as it is a hilarious puppet show, The Man Who Planted Trees shows us the difference one man (and his dog!) can make to the world. Touring since 2006 in the UK and internationally including repeat seasons at the Sydney Opera House and New York’s Lincoln Centre Institute.

“Laughs, heartbreak, war, regeneration, scented breezes, sparkling wit and the best dog puppet ever. Perfect for children and grown-ups. Terrific.” (The Guardian)

Staged in The Willow Theatre, an alternative sustainable theatre, designed and built specifically for World Stage Design within the Anthony Hopkins Centre courtyard.

Running time 65 minutes.

This performance was suitable for adults and children over 7.

Price: £6
